The Ghana Chamber of Mines' new Executives

The Induction of New Executives

Following an election held in June 2022, the new executives have been officially inducted to serve the Ghana Chamber of Mines for two years. They are Mr Joshua Mortoti (President), Mr George Nutor (1st Vice President), Ms Angela List (2nd Vice President), and Mr Sulemanu Koney (Chief Executive Officer).

Mr Joshua Mortoti – President

Mr Mortoti is the Executive Vice President and Head of West Africa for Gold Fields. He has over 26 years of mining industry experience as a mechanical and mining engineer. He also has a thorough knowledge of strategic planning, energy management, accounting, and business development. Joshua Mortoti replaces Eric Asubonteng, who has served the Chamber for the past four years.

Mr George Korsi Nutor – 1st Vice President

George Korsi will serve as 1st Vice President for the Chamber. He is the Vice President and General Manager of Chirano Gold Mines Limited. George has more than 20 years of experience in the gold mining and processing industry. In the past, he held positions of Process Director and Metallurgical Manager.

Ms Angela List – 2nd Vice President

The 2nd Vice President for the Chamber is Ms Angela List. She is the Chief Executive of Nguvu Mining Limited, a group of West African Mining companies, and Managing Director of Adamus Resources Limited. Ms List has over 20 years of experience in the mining industry, mainly in mining services. She was the Executive Director of the BCM Group, a group of mining contracting companies, in charge of Finance and Administration for over 25 years. She has also worked for KPMG in the past. At KPMG, she successfully led teams to audit major local and multinational companies.

Angela’s professional success is highly admirable, especially as she has built trust and good relations with financiers, stakeholders, government authorities, local chiefs, and their communities.

Mr Sulemanu Koney – Chief Executive Officer

Mr Suleman has extensive experience and knowledge in the mining industry, and has worked as the Director for Analysis, Research and Finance for the Ghana Chamber of Mines in the past. He has been instrumental in the success stories of the Chamber.
