November 14, 2024Adamus Resources Limited Kicks Off Breast Cancer Awareness Month with Comprehensive Program
Under the powerful theme "No One Should Face Breast Cancer Alone," Adamus Resources Limited, a subsidiary of Nguvu Mining Limited, launched its Breast Cancer Awareness Month campaign on October 22nd at the Adamus Nzema site, demonstrating the company's commitment to employee health and well-being.
The launch event featured an intimate gathering where ARL management engaged with female employees to discuss the importance of early detection and regular screening in the fight against breast cancer. This personal approach underscores Adamus Resources' dedication to fostering an open dialogue about women's health in the workplace.
The Health Safety, and Environmental Manager, Mr. Philip Thompson, emphasized the significance of community support in fighting breast cancer: "This year's theme reminds us that dealing with breast cancer requires not just medical intervention, but also emotional and social support. At Adamus Resources, we're creating a supportive environment where our employees know they're not alone in their health journey"
Speaking at the event, the HR Superintendent, Mrs. Florence Yalley, shared a personal perspective: "As women in the mining industry, we must prioritize our health while supporting one another. This screening initiative is more than just a medical program – it's about creating a sisterhood where we can openly discuss our health concerns and stand together in facing challenges."
The President of the Adamus Ladies Association, Mrs. Hannah Chemel, delivered a rallying message to her fellow colleagues: "Regular screening is our first line of defense against breast cancer. Let's embrace this opportunity to take charge of our health and support each other. When we stand together, we are stronger in facing any health challenges that may come our way."
As part of the initiative, the company provided free breast cancer screening services to all employees from October 22nd to 25th October 2024. This comprehensive screening program ensured that employees had access to potentially life-saving early detection services.
The initiative saw strong participation, with 151 employees participating, including 90 women and 61 men – taking advantage of the free screening services during the program. This encouraging turnout demonstrates the company's inclusive approach to health awareness and the strong support for the initiative across the workforce.
"Our commitment to employee well-being goes beyond operational safety," stated the General Manager, Mr. Kwadwo Opoku Ansah. "By providing these screening services and creating awareness, we're building a workplace culture where health concerns can be addressed openly and where support is readily available. No member of the Adamus family should ever feel alone in their health challenges."
The breast cancer awareness campaign reflects Nguvu Mining Limited's broader commitment to employee welfare and community health initiatives. The company continues to prioritize health awareness programs as part of its corporate social responsibility efforts.
